FEAST DAY OF ST CHARLES - FOURTH NOVEMBER [04/11]

St Charles was approved as an institution in 1962 by Chief Salubi but came into full operation in 1963 after much effort by the founder; Rev Father Charles Lyon, who was then the Parish Priest at Agbor.

Before the approval/operation of the school, Father Lyon was transferred to Ubiaja but his transfer did not hinder him from msking sure his vision/passion came to fruition and continously driving from Ubiaja to Abavo working closely with Chief Salubi, Bishop Patrick Kelly and our Royal Highness S.E Ekhator.

On one of his trips from Abavo back to Ubiaja, Father Charles was involved in a fatal accident and passed on to glory. When the good work he started was approved after his death, the project (school) was named in memory of him (Rev Father Charles).

St Charles Borromeo is celebrated every 4th November as our Patron Saint.

He is the patron Saint of Bishops, Cardinals, Seminaries, and spiritual leaders and was a leading figure of the counter- reformation combat against the protestant reformation together with Ignatius Loyola, and Philip Neri.

He was responsible for significant reforms in the Catholic Church including the founding of Seminaries for education of Priests. He was also the patron saint of stomach ailments, dieting and obesity though we his children of St Charles college cease these medium to celebrate his achievements, bravery cooking and sharing food to mark his achievements.
